NSS unit Lyallpur Khalsa College concludes 7-Day Special Camp

Jalandhar, January 4, 2022: Seven Day Special Camp by NSS unit Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar left indelible footprints in the memory of its volunteers and civilians of village Johal and Bolina Doaba. The themes of this camp were cleanliness, social awareness and personality development. The camp ended with valedictory session on seventh day. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra was the chief guest. He was welcomed warmly by NSS team. After Shabad Gayan and experience sharing by volunteers, Chief Program Officer Satpal Singh presented the camp report. He stated that Nukkad Natak on Swacchta at Johal and Bolina Doaba were the hallmarks of the camp. In addition to rallies on voter awareness, rain water conservation, drug addiction and blood donation, there was a survey conducted in the village on water pollution and water management. Volunteers under swacchta campaign cleaned the area in the village, Lyallpur Khalsa College halt, college campus and library and learned the art of self service. 
There were motivational lectures by ADC Urban Development IAS Himanshu Jain, Principal Dr. Samra, National Awardee Surinder Saini and SVEEP District Nodal Officer Surjit Lal. Principal Dr. Samra in his address congratulated the volunteers on successfully completing the camp and emphasised that youth has key role in bringing positive changes in society. He added that Lyallpur Khalsa College is committed for social cause and overall growth of its students and it is upto the students to cash in the opportunities provided. Chief Program Officer Satpal Singh said that these volunteers are bridge between city and village cultures. These camps make them realize ground reality and prepare them for their future endeavours. 
During the event, NSS caps, T-shirts and track suits were presented to college NSS unit. Maninderjit Singh, Zorawar Singh, Disha Vij and Lovepreet Kaur were adjudged as best campers. The whole camp was managed by Program officers Satpal Singh, Dr. Amandeep Kaur and Dr. Navneet Arora.
