NSS Units Lyallpur Khalsa College Initiate Meri Mati Mera Desh Program
NSS units LKC started a week long Meri Mati Mera Desh Program devoted to Freedom Fighters and Army Personnel through Jan Bhagidari. Chief guest of the event Surinder Saini, a renowned social worker and ambassador of Unicef India, was welcomed by Principal Prof. Jareen Kaur with a memento.
Jalandhar, August 10, 2023: NSS units LKC started a week long Meri Mati Mera Desh Program devoted to Freedom Fighters and Army Personnel through Jan Bhagidari. Chief guest of the event Surinder Saini, a renowned social worker and ambassador of Unicef India, was welcomed by Principal Prof. Jareen Kaur with a memento.
Principal Prof.Kaur, in her address, emphasised the importance of and respect of all sections of society. She further said that youth has to negate the poison of intolerance with positive ideas. She gave tribute to Ajit Saini, father of Surinder Saini, who worked with Azad Hind Fauj chief Subash Chandra Bose. She informed that the nation, under Azadi ka Amrut Mahautsav, is paying tribute to freedom fighters who protected and "Veers" who protect our nation and it is a matter of great pride that freedom fighter Ajit Saini was a student of this college.
Sani in his address on the topic Meri Mati Mera Desh gave different examples of patriotism and motivated students and volunteers to serve the nation in its true spirit. During this event, a pledge on Panch Pran was taken to make our nation developed by the year 2047.
Chief Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that a tree plantation campaign is started under which 75 plants will be planted to commemorate 75 years of India's Independence. NSS volunteers Balpreet Kaur and Jasnoor Kaur handled the stage.
During his program, PO. Heminder Singh, PO Surbjit Singh and students and volunteers were present in significant number.
