NSS Volunteers of HMV cleaned statues in city during camp
The NSS Volunteers of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar cleaned the statues situated at parks and other places in Jalandhar
Jalandhar, January 10, 2022: The NSS Volunteers of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar cleaned the statues situated at parks and other places in Jalandhar with the collaboration of Health Officer Krishan Kumar and Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen.
During the morning prayer Gurwinder Kaur and Mehak Bhatia presented thought of the day. All the volunteers were divided in groups. One group visited ward no. 78 and motivated the residents to contribute towards making of Swachh Jalandhar. Second group cleaned the various statues of freedom fighters at various squares and parks with the collaboration of Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar.
The whole work was carried out under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen, Programme Coordinator Swachh Bharat Mission, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, Ramanpreet Kaur and NSS Programme Coordinator HMV Veena Arora. The project was started by cleaning the statues of Maharishi Dayanand, Mahatma Hans Raj & Mahatma Anand Swami in the campus of HMV. The volunteers also cleaned the statues of great freedom fighters at Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Hall and Memorial Jung-E-Azaadi. They also cleaned statues at B.R. Ambedkar Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi main MC Chowk, Major Raman Dada Chowk, Clock Tower, Shaheed Udham Singh Park, Shastri Market, Bhagat Singh Chowk and Skylark Chowk. Health Officer Naresh Kumar, Ashok Bheem, Supervisor, Kulwinder Singh and Pardeep Kumar also motivated the volunteers.
Veena Arora thanked Ramanpreet Kaur and her team for her cooperation. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen said that every citizen should understand his/her duty for Swachhta. Together we can fulfill this dream. She gave assurance that HMV will always be a part of every campaign for betterment of society. She paid her tribute to the great leaders and congratulated NSS team for great work.
On this occasion NSS Advisor Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Programme Officer Harmanu, Dr. Meenu Talwar, Manpreet Kaur and Pawandeep Kaur were also present.
