As part of the ongoing 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah celebrations, the students of the Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics at Government Home Science College showcased a special, nutritious take on the popular street food Dahi Papdi Chaat.
Chandigarh, September 25, 2024: As part of the ongoing 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah celebrations, the students of the Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics at Government Home Science College showcased a special, nutritious take on the popular street food Dahi Papdi Chaat.
The recipe, designed to align with the objectives of Poshan Maah, highlighted innovative ways to incorporate healthful ingredients into traditional dishes, making them both delicious and nutritionally rich. The Dahi Papdi Chaat prepared by the students included nutrient-dense components like whole grains, curd, and sprouted pulses, along with a variety of vegetables, offering a balanced combination of protein, fiber, and essential vitamins. The dish was an excellent example of how everyday snacks can be made healthy without compromising on taste, in line with the national mission to promote better nutrition across all age groups.
Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the college, appreciated the efforts of the students in creating such innovative recipes that reflect the ethos of Poshan Maah—focusing on nutrition and health for all.
