Observance of International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2018

Chandigarh, December 3, 2018: International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed by the Equal Opportunity cell in collaboration with Department of Community Education and Disability Panjab University here today at Government Model School, Sector 25 Chandigarh.
Rally, Drawing Competition, and Rangoli were carried out in the school. Rally was flagged off by Prof.Sanjeev Gautam, Coordinator of Equal Opportunity Cell and Dr.Dazy Zarabi, Chairperson of the Department of Community Education and Disability Panjab University. Children broke the barrier through drawing and colours. They expressed their ideas through drawing. Students were given prizes and certificates. Principal of Government Model School, Sector 25 congratulated the children. The faculty of the department including Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Dr. Saifur Rahman, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Mr. Shamsad Alam, and Md Taukir Alam coordinated the events. Students of M.A. and B.Ed Special Education. (LD) and Research scholars were also present. Program on 4th December 2018, ICSSR Hall, PU includes activities like Essay Writing , Debate Competition, Quiz, Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competition on different themes.

The Valedictory function will be held in the evening at ICSSR Complex, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Shri Vijay Sampla, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment will be the chief guest. Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Panjab University will preside over the ceremony and prizes and certificates will be distributed among the winners.
