FEROZEPUR, June 5, 2019: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Chander Gaind today cycled from one place to other and planted saplings. Describing about the importance of protecting the environment for a healthy life, DC Gaind participated in “Cycle Rally” which was organized by the district administration with the help of municipal council and local NGOs.
On this occasion, Gaind said that due to unawareness of people, the environment is constantly being damaged and the level of pollution is increasing day by day which is a matter of concern for everyone. He said that very soon a “Plantation Drive will be initiated at large scale and some government schemes will be linked to plantation that this border district can be green and pollution free.
The bicycle rally organized on this occasion was concluded at Shaheed Bhagat Sinngh Stadium after passing from various places of the city. DC Gaind also exhorted the youth to leave the drugs.
On this occasion Ashok Behal Secretary Red Cross, Sunil Kumar District Sports Officer, Sukhpal Singh Sanitary Inspector, Anirudh Gupta, President Cycling Association Ferozepur (CAF), Dr. Satinder Singh, Harish Monga, Sohan Singh Sodhi and others were present.
