The latest track of Sony SAB's 'Maddam Sir' leaves no stone unturned in tickling the fans' funny bone while subtly imparting a message on the woes of a common man in India. Popular for its light humour, the cop drama show depicts the hardships faced at Mahila Police Thana due to the recent power cut.
Caused by their failure to pay the electricity bill, Mahila Police Thana faces the harsh repercussions of an honest mistake. As the constable Cheeta investigates the matter and is shocked to find out that the electricity bill amounts to 6 crore rupees! While believing that this is an error which ought to be nipped in the bud, Haseena (Gulki Joshi) tediously attempts to approach the DSP to reinstate the electricity which was erstwhile disconnected at Mahila Police Thana. The Chief Electricity Officer refuses to help, therefore, Kareena (Yukti Kapoor) reaches the Electricity Engineer to fix the MPT meter and subsequently rectifies the problem with him and gives them the correct receipt. The entire MPT goes through a tedious rigmarole to finally get the electricity on in MPT
If cops can battle such hassles due to mere non-submission of the electricity bill, ‘Maddam Sir' teaches a lesson on the plight of common citizens of India who don't have access to the DSP, other officials, and resourceful individuals when they face such troubles every day.
Conscious about this troubling reality, Gulki who essays the role of Haseena Malik comments, "It's a matter of serious concern that the people of India are perpetually trying to overcome barriers - be it inadequate redressals, delays by officials, or corruption they are constantly unable to find long-term solutions for accessing necessities like electricity, water and food. I'm glad that the track of 'Maddam Sir' highlights this issue in a way that makes it relatable for the audience and holds a mirror to society and its social helpers. The upcoming episodes are filled with entertainment and drama and I am sure the audience will enjoy it"
