On Gurpurab Of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, MLA Kuldeep Singh Vaid dedicates 20 development projects
Works related to Dhandra Cluster moving at fast pace: MLA Vaid
Ludhiana: Dedicated to the 551st Gurpurab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Gill MLA Mr Kuldeep Singh Vaid today dedicated 20 development projects for the residents of Dhandra and Thakkarwal villages of the district. Mr Vaid said that it is a matter of great pride that first Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited both these villages.
On this occasion, he was also accompanied by Dhandra Sarpanch Mr Gurjit Singh, former sarpanch Mr Manmohan Singh, BDPO Mr Dhanwant Singh Randhawa, besides several others.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr Kuldeep Singh Vaid said that during the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji last year, Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh had announced a grant of Rs 1 crore each for all villages visited by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said that both Dhandra and Thakkarwal villages had received a grant of Rs 1 crore each and today, a total of 20 development projects (8 in village Dhandra and 12 in village Thakkarwal) were inaugurated.
These projects include renovation of pond, construction of different parks for men and women, different gym for men and women, construction of village ring road, boundary wall of cremation ground, repair of civil dispensary, two Aanganwari centres, construction of solid waste management plant, leisure valley park and overall plantation in village Thakkarwal.
Similarly, the development projects inaugurated at Dhandra village include renovation of village park, road for proper connectivity to historical Gurudwara Sahib, construction of village ring road, cremation ground, renovation of pond, bus queue shelter, sewerage line and plantation.
During the press conference, MLA Mr Kuldeep Singh Vaid informed for providing city like facilities to the villages, the state government, with the support of Union government, has started Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission. He said that Dhandra cluster have got approval under this mission in which 21 panchayats/villages/colonies have been included and these areas would get city like facilities.
He informed that work on this mission has been going on in full swing. The residents of areas falling under Dhandra cluster are being provided facilities such as sewerage, roads, solar lights and other basic facilities. Besides, other development projects that were left incomplete due to shortage of funds, would also be completed under Shyama Prasad Mukherji Urban Mission.
He informed that around Rs 100 crore would be spent under this mission.
He said that the development works include constriction of rural huts, development of cremation ground, bus stop, library, Aanganwari, children park, primary smart school, besides work of laying sewerage in 8 villages have completed. The other under construction projects include a lake, multipurpose business centre, agro processing unit, cluster level commercial space centre, cluster level sports stadium, skill development centre, veterinary hospital, civil dispensary, smart secondary school, sewerage projects and construction of streets in villages.
