On the anniversary of 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', Ex CM Hooda takes out Yatra in Rohtak
BJP-JJP accepted defeat even before elections, Congress victory is certain: Bhupinder Hooda
Rohtak, September 7, 2023: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda took out a yatra in Rohtak on Thursday to mark the first anniversary of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'.
Thousands of people gathered in this yatra that reached from Congress Bhawan to Bhiwani stand. Along with marching on the streets and roads, people also welcomed the Yatra with slogans by climbing on the roofs of shops and houses. Elated by the massive response of the crowd, Hooda said 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' has left a deep impression on the minds and hearts of the people, whose impact is still being seen. He was accompanied by local MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra.
Hooda said Rahul Gandhi’s yatra got tremendous public support across the country and lakhs of people joined the yatra in Haryana, from the moment it entered the state from Rajasthan, to the time it entered Punjab. “It was perhaps for the first time in the history of the country and the state that thousands of people gathered in Ferozepur Jhirka in early morning to welcome the yatra amid bitter cold,” he said. “The Panipat rally broke all the records of the people’s participation. The yatra generated great enthusiasm in the people of Haryana, from the entire GT Road, to Nuh, Gurgaon and Faridabad, to welcome the yatra. The yatra sent a good message of love and brotherhood to the country,” Hooda stated.
Former CM told that dozens of public meetings, Mohalla meetings and door-to-door campaigns were conducted under the Hath se Hath Jodo campaign. Along with this, the party organized huge public meetings in 9 Lok Sabha constituencies under the program ‘Vipaksh Aapke Samaksh’ and the Congress continues to reach out to people through its 'Jan Milan' programmes.
“The success of all the programs gives a clear indication about the public's attitude towards the Congress. It is often seen that leaders leave the Opposition parties and join the ruling parties. But all sections have become so fed up with BJP-JJP that the leaders are constantly joining the opposition Congress, after leaving the ruling party,” he said.
Hooda told that till now about 30 former MLAs have left other parties and joined Congress. Apart from this, hundreds of sarpanchs, panchs, councilors, former councilors, former sarpanchs and office bearers of parties have joined the Congress.
“Today a wave of change is going on in every part of Haryana. The public is eagerly waiting for the elections so that the Congress government can be formed by voting out the BJP-JJP coalition government from power. The ruling BJP and JJP have become so desperate due to the tremendous wave of Congress in the state, that it seems as if they have accepted their defeat even before the elections,” he added.
Before the yatra, Hooda extended hearty greetings to all the people of the state on the occasion of Janmashtami. He took part in many social and religious programs on this occasion. Hooda offered prayers to Lord Krishna and prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the country and the state. On this occasion, he also participated in the program of blood donation camp and Bar Association.
