On the fifth day of Shrimad Bhagwat Katha and Vrindavan Praktya Utsav, 56 dishes offered to Lord Shri Krishna

Chandigarh, October 11, 2024: Vrindavan Praktya Utsav and Shrimad Bhagwat Katha are being organised at the Mela Ground in Sector 34 under the aegis of Shri Krishna Priya Ju Sankirtan Mandal, which will continue till October 13.

The fifth day of the Katha started with great pomp today with Aarti and Hari bhajans. After that, world famous Katha Vyas Param Pujya Shri Indresh Maharaj told the story of offering 56 bhogs to Lord Shri Krishna. He said that we should also give time to God from our busy schedule and worship him.

He told that to save the people of Braj from the wrath of Indra Dev, Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhan mountain. After this, he had to remain hungry for seven days, after which he was fed 56 dishes for seven days and eight times. Since then, this tradition of '56 Bhog' has started. He told that Lord Krishna stopped the worship of Indra Dev and made Nandvasi start Shri Govardhan Puja. We get to learn a lot from the Leelas of Lord Krishna.

Indresh Maharaj told that yesterday was a very good day. He did not feel that he was in Chandigarh, yesterday he felt like he was in Vrindavan. He said that one should keep doing something new in front of Thakur ji, this makes him happy. Indresh ji told that today there was a lot of enthusiasm in Punjab University and everyone was immersed in devotion there too.

Today in the Katha, Giriraj Poojan was done and 56 Bhog brought by the devotees was offered to Shri Girdhar Lal ji.  World famous Bhagwat Bhaskar Shri Krishnachandra Shastri (Thakur Ji) Maharaj specially came to give blessings in the Katha. Today former Home Minister of Haryana State Anil Vij also reached the program to take blessings from Vyas Peeth. National President of Gauseva Mission Swami Krishnanand Ji Maharaj graced the program with the Gausevaks. It is worth mentioning that the organizer of this huge Bhagwat Katha is famous Bollywood singer B Praak and renowned speaker Sandeep Chugh is conducting the program. He said that well-known religious gurus including Pujya Swami Kailash Nand Giri Ji Maharaj Mahamandaleshwar Niranjan Akhara Parishad, Chitralekha, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri (Bageshwar Government), Manoj Mohan Shastri Ji, Mohit Murali Ji, Gurudev Bhagwan Ji and Aniruddhacharya are reaching the program.
