On World Architecture Day: Let's Work Towards Creating Best Architectural Infrastructure

Architecture is the backbone of any country and without updated planning & architecture no city or country can progress quickly. Role of planners and architects is most important in every country. Planners and Architects must be given free hand in the development process without any political interference.

India is coming up with hundred smart cities and role of architects and planners is highest. Thank God there is a day on first Monday of October every year to celebrate as "World Architecture Day".

WAD reminds us about our responsibilities towards mankind through art and Architecture.

The theme of World Architecture Day (WAD) in 2024 is "Empowering the Next Generation in Participatory Urban Design". The theme highlights the role of young architects in urban planning and development, and encourages them to participate in the design process. 
 
The day will focus on key issues such as: energy efficiency, waste management, use of sustainable materials, and improving urban mobility. 
 
The goal is to create cities that are more environmentally friendly and promote sustainable economic growth. 
 
WAD was established in 1985 by the International Union of Architects (UIA).

The day coincides with the United Nations World Habitat Day, which aligns the architectural community's efforts with global urban development goals.

India is a progressive country having less than two lakh registered architects with Council of Architecture, Govt of India and just four hundred plus Architecture colleges.

Let's we all work more and more towards creating best architectural infrastructure in our country for best all-round progress in coming years.
