One held with three kg opium by Ferozepur police
The sleuths belonging to Punjab police have arrested one person and have recovered three kg opium from him.
Ferozepur, April 4, 2022: The sleuths belonging to Punjab police have arrested one person and have recovered three kg opium from him. While giving details, Charanjit Singh SSP said that following the inputs, the police had laid naka at Mamdot- Lakho ke Behram link road. “The police party on duty observed the movement of car (Verna car DL 08C AM 0996) which was coming from Mamdot side. After seeing the police naka, the accused identified as Sanjeev Roshan (46), resident of Village Chhapra in East Champaran district of Bihar, get down from the car and tried to run away with a bag in his hand but fell down”, said SSP.
“During the checking, the police recovered three polythene bags weighing three kg opium from the accused. The police has booked the accused under Sections 18, 61, 85 NDPS Act (FIR No.30 dated 02.04.2022). The accused was produced in the court and was sent on three days police remand”, SSP further added.
The SSP said that during the investigation it was surfaced that the accused had been booked in a NDPS case following the recovery of 24 kg opium at Rampura Phool police station of Bathinda district.
The SSP said that in other cases, the police have arrested four persons and have recovered 50 grams heroin from them in Guruharsahai sub-division. The SSP said that the accused were nabbed by the police following the inputs and were booked under NDPS Act at Guruharsahai police station (FIR No.61 Dated 02.04.2022). In other case, the police have arrested two persons identified as Gurpreet Singh and Jaswinder Singh and had recovered two gram heroin and drug money of Rs. 10000/- near Mudki in Ghall khurd block under NDPS Act (FIR No.22 Dated 02.04.2022).
