Ferozepur, April 15, 2019: The sleuths belonging to 29 Battalion of BSF have arrested an Indian smuggler and have recovered two packets of heroin (weighing approximate 1.690 Kg) worth Rs 7.5 crore near border out post (BOP) Lakha Singh Wala (L S Wala) in this sector. Giving details, the BSF officials said that on April 14 at around 10.00 pm, the BSF Jawans deputed at BOP observed some suspicious movement of two Pakistani smugglers ahead of security fencing. At the same time, the movement of 2-3 persons was observed from the Indian side also. However, after assessing the situation the BSF troops took position and kept watching the suspicious movement of smugglers from both sides. The BSF officials said that when the Pakistani smugglers reached close to the fence and started throwing something, the BSF troops challanged them but they did not pay any heed following which the BSF Jawans opened fire.
