One Month Long ‘Yoga Course’ commences at Amity University
As an outcome of MoU between Morariji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India and Amity University, a month long FOUNDATION COURSE IN YOGA SCIENCE FOR WELLNESS (FCYScW), under 'Amity Centre for Yoga Education, Therapy and Research’, commenced from today at University Campus, Sector 125 Noida. The mission of this centre and course is to promote the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi to rebrand and promote yoga at the global level by signifying the importance of practicing yoga every day for a healthy body, mind and soul. Sharing his views, Dr. W Selvamurthy, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation said “the motto of the course is ‘Learn Yoga Earn Certificate and Burn Calorie.’ The course is structured in such a way that it is beneficial for both beginners and yoga teachers.” He apprised that the classes for FCYScW will also be conducted on weekends and morning sessions so that working professionals can also enroll in the prograame. He remarked that Amity is committed to promote the Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM) including six recognized systems: Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy and their practices which are now recognized in an important role to meet the global health care needs. Foundation Course will also include scientific rationale of health benefits of Yoga.
