One - week Faculty Development Programme on Machine Learning for Computer Vision at GNA University
GNA University, School of Computational Science organized a One – Week Faculty Development Programme on ‘Machine Learning for Computer Vision’.
Jalandhar, June 19, 2023: GNA University, School of Computational Science organized a One – Week Faculty Development Programme on ‘Machine Learning for Computer Vision’. Dr. Anita Budhiraja, Scientist – D and Dr. Sarwan Singh, Scientist – D from NIELIT, Chandigarh was the two resource persons, who facilitated this FDP. The prime objective of this FDP was concerning the latest trends in AI, Machine Learning and Computer Vision, who will in turn educate the student community, and to facilitate research schemes using the advanced software tools in the field of Machine Learning and also provide Hands-On Training in the implementation of various Machine Learning techniques.
In total, 55 participants from different colleges/universities and institutions attended this FDP. The learners understood how AI/ML, data science can be used to innovate and enhance the business process in real time. ML techniques are extensively used for many applications such as Biometrics, Medical Imaging processing, Speech Recognition, Traffic Prediction, Automatic Language Translation, and many more.
The Five Days FDP concluded with an appreciation of the efforts put in by participants, organizers and conveners. The FDP acknowledged the participants with a participation certificate.
Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro-Chancellor of the University congratulated School of Computational Science for successfully completing the One – Week FDP. He said, “The department should further motivate its students and faculty members to enhance their skills in emerging technologies.”
Dr. Vikrant Sharma, Dean and Dr. Hitesh Marwaha, HoD thanked the management for providing an open platform to the faculty members. They also thanked the eminent resource persons, Dr. Anita Budhiraja and Dr. Sarwan Singh from NIELIT, Chandigarh and everyone who supported this FDP in full swing.
