“Online Capacity Building Training Programme” sponsored by Department of Science and Technology commences at Amity University
Noida, December 6, 2021: Amity Institute of Training & Development (AITD) in coordination with the Amity Foundation for Science, Technology & Innovation Alliances (AFSTIA) is organizing a 10-day "Online Capacity Building Training Programme for Technical Personnel”, sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, from 06 December to 17 December, 2021 at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida. A total of 35 participants are participating in this Programnme, who hold junior to middle-level positions in Government Research and Development Organizations.
Welcoming the speakers at the Inaugural Session, Dr. Rajiv Sharma, DG, Amity Foundation for Science, Technology & Innovation Alliances (AFSTIA) said, “We are happy to organize the 10- day Online Capacity Building Training Programme. Through this Programme, we aim to help participants to develop the functional and behavioral skills needed to enhance their effectiveness and contribution to organizational success.”
Addressing the participants, Chief Guest Dr. Akhilesh Gupta, FNAE, FIMS, Senior Adviser & Scientist-H, Head, Policy Coordination & Programme Management (PCPM) Division of Department of Science & Technology, stated, “India has a huge Science & Technology system with about 1000 R&D institutions. We have around 59,000 plus start-ups in India today and the kind of innovation system which India has, is really commendable. Focusing on patented research should be our goal and private Universities are making a significant contribution in this field. Every institute should encourage patent filing and increase awareness about the same. A big change is taking place in the Technological Ecosystem of India and Science Management. It is heartening to see that India is emerging as the number one country in Frugal Innovation.” Speaking further about a visionary leader he said, “Vision is something beyond your goals. A leader must be loyal to his institution and his vision must align with the vision of his institution; leaders must inspire the people to work for the long-term vision.”

Speaking about the significance of this Programme, Dr Nitin Batra, CEO, Amity Institute of Training & Development, said, “Scientists and technologists working in Government Sector manage projects involving human, technical and financial resources, need to build collaborations and motivate and influence their teams to deliver the best results. The faculty, scientists and scholars of Amity University will be attending the Ten-day Online Programme which will also be helpful in acquiring essential functional skills to manage projects in line with Government policies on procurement, financial management and utilization of resources.
