Online International Kids Film Festival (IKFF) was inaugurated at DCM Young Entrepreneurs School
The country’s largest online International Kids Film Festival (IKFF) was inaugurated on Monday at DCM Young Entrepreneurs School, Rajguru Nagar on the occasion of Children’s Day.
Ludhiana, November 15, 2022: The country’s largest online International Kids Film Festival (IKFF) was inaugurated on Monday at DCM Young Entrepreneurs School, Rajguru Nagar on the occasion of Children’s Day. This 15-days long kids film festival will continue from November 14 to 30, 2022.
Preet Kiran, the School Dean said that IKFF was being organised in association with LXL Ideas, the French Embassy and Children’s Film Festival Seattle, Australia. The idea behind hosting this International Kids Film Festival (IKFF) was to gift the children of Ludhiana, the world's best films, she said, adding that more than 75 award winning films made by filmmakers from 20 countries in over 15 languages will be made accessible for students during this festival.
Stressing on the potential of schools as being influential in promoting powerful educational tools like films, Harjeet Singh, GM, DCM YES, said "Living in an era where the visual medium and screens dominate our lives, it is imperative that schools educate children about the fine art of cinema. In spite of all the videos around us, good quality children's films are not easily accessible. Film festivals like this are a great way to initiate our children to the magic of meaningful cinema."
Ruchika AGM(Operations) of the School said, "We are delighted to host IKFF as it will provide a huge platform to expose our students to various cultures around the globe, thereby linking them with a common thread of humanity. She said that various international languages like French, Spanish and Italian are being taught to the students at the YES School The lessons of life taught through the medium of cinema will have an everlasting impact."
Meera, School Activity Coordinator said that gifting the students with a plethora of quality films on children's day is trully gratifying. "We are all set to make this Children's Fortnight exciting, educating and entertaining for kids of all ages by bringing new, inspiring and globally diverse cinema to school students" she added.
The Dean said that lot of films will be screened in the school for all parents and children of Ludhiana throughout this week.
