Online teachers’ workshop on theme of teacher - student relationship

Chandigarh: The department of youth welfare, Panjab University Chandigarh started two days online teachers workshop on the theme of teacher - student relationship with respect to co-curricular activities, youth activity , personality development and positive thinking .The chief guest of the inaugural session Dr Rama Shankar Dubay, Vice Chancellor of Central University Gujrat said that to organize such type of workshop is the need of the hour. He expressed that this is our soul duty to protect our young minds from any kind of negativity spreading around us and by connecting the teachers from colleges we can connect with thousands of young minds. He appreciated this initiative taken by the Panjab University. Dr Dubay congratulated all the participants who are ready to take the challenge posed by the nature. He appreciated the able leadership of PU VC Prof Raj Kumar to involve the teachers students in the creative work.
In his presidential remarks Panjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar said that as we are presently going through a global challenge of COVID 19 situation but I am immensely satisfied that this hard time is not becoming a stopper in path of our faculty and students; instead it has become a stepping stone to broaden our horizon towards the technology which is quite helpful in this time for connectivity. Prof Raj Kumar expressed that a teacher should always be ready to imbibe new change happening in the society so that the knowledge he absorb by analyzing the situation could be disseminated to his students. A teacher can tackle the problems and queries of young minds which are quite inquisitive and sensitive to any change. Prof Raj Kumar believed that the young generation can learn the spirit of teacher student relationship along with the power of truth , determination , moral values from the Mahabharta , Ramayna . The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of youth welfare department for organizing this timely important event to encourage teaching fraternity and students . While addressing the participant teachers Dean PU Colleges , Dr Sanjay Kaushik said that a teacher is the strong and important link in the education system . So the role of a teacher significantly contributes to formation of healthy society .
PU Director Youth Welfare Dr. Nirmal Jaura said that co curricular activities are very important for shaping the personality of the students during the study . Dr Jaura expressed that without teachers it is impossible to engage the students in recreational work.
During the technical session Prof Gurbhajan Gill former President Punjabi Sahit Akedemy discussed on teacher students learning relationships , Prof Dharminder Singh Ubha Princiapal of Khalsa College Patiala on real role of the teachers in the progress of the students , Principal Dr Narinder Sandhu on the creative work , Dr Jasvir Kaur Chahal on positivity and Dr Harvinder Sharma on Folk Music . While proposing the vote of thanks Dr Parminder Singh Director Sports said the PU is constantly working for the welfare of the students during the lockdown period .
Conveners of the workshop Prof Amit Goyal and Dr Monita Dhiman told that the teachers from affiliated and constituent colleges of the university are participating in this two day workshop . Prof Amanpreet Kaur Kang introduced all the resource persons with their achievements in respective fields. Prof Rauban Inder controlled the WebEx system in control room of this workshop . Prof Amit Goyal informed that this workshop will continue till tomorrow.
