OPA celebrated Gutenberg Festival

See what we were and What we are now . . . . .
because we are forgetting or ignoring our own culture, our heritage and moral values. We are forgetting our age old traditions which were the backbone for our culture and the main source of satisfaction and happiness . . . . .

These days we live in a world where all kinds of technologies are available to us at the tip of our fingers. All this has paved a path for wondrous developments. But have you wondered for a minute about how technology is affecting us or has already affected us on an individual level? At OPA just to guide the members that – Use the technology but don’t become too dependent on technology that we lose our fundamental human nature, OPA Carnival is organized during Gutenberg Festival on the eve of famous festival Holi every year.

The Annual Gutenberg Festival was organized at Millennium World School at Ranjit Avenue Part-2, Ludhiana on 18th March, 2022. There was no entry fee but only members of OPA were allowed to participate after clearing all their pending dues. The partners, directors, owner and family members managing the unit registered with OPA participated along with their families participated in the ‘Gutenberg Festival.’

Inaugurating the event, Kushl Kumar Jain, Senior Vice President said, I am thrilled to see the presence of member families and their excitement for the event. It is a fact that due to COVID it was not possible to organize the physical events and it is perhaps after two years we are gathered physically once again. We celebrate the day in the name of Johannes Gutenberg, ‘Father of Modern Printing’ and OPA Carnival is a part of this annual festival. I am really feeling honoured with the presence of members of printers associations of Samana, Dhuri, Batala, Jammu and Jalandhar who are here along with their families.

Earlier speaking on the occasion, Prof. Kamal Mohan Chopra highlighted the details and necessity of such functions and said, with the passage of time we are forgetting our own traditions and meeting each other. With internet we came closer to the outside word but started overlooking our friends and relatives. We meet almost daily, several time daily with each other but virtually. Internet is creating the physical distance and person is becoming alone and self-cantered. At OPA we organize this festival so that at least once in a year there should the meeting of the families to enjoy fun and experience the togetherness.
During carnival participants enjoyed funny and ancient skill games like, three leg race (one Male one female); Balloon Race for couple; Musical Chair; Bursting the balloon on Chair; Tie leg Race; Paper Dance; Sack Race and Balloon Balancing etc.

The prime attraction was the ‘Tug of War’ between husband and wives and it is for the first time that husbands were the winners. The climax was the limited 5 over a side cricket match, there were 8 players on each side in this match, played with some funny rules. The carnival a great fun and each and every member present enjoyed the fun and pleasure of this family event.
