OPA Honoured at World Corrugation Forum 2025 for Global Printing and Packaging Leadership

Ludhiana, April 14, 2025: The Offset Printers Association (OPA) was celebrated for its outstanding contributions to the global printing and packaging industry at the prestigious World Corrugation Forum (WCF) held in Shanghai, China. The felicitation ceremony, attended by print industry leaders from over 20 countries, underscored OPA’s pivotal role in fostering innovation, collaboration, and networking across the sector worldwide.

The award was presented by Josephin Lee, Chief Operating Officer of RX Greater China, who lauded OPA’s relentless dedication. “The Offset Printers Association stands out as one of the most dynamic and impactful organizations in the industry,” Lee remarked. “Their efforts in uniting stakeholders and driving advancements in printing and packaging are truly commendable. We are proud to partner with such a visionary association.”

Founded to promote excellence in the printing and packaging sectors, OPA has spearheaded initiatives that enhance technical expertise, sustainability, and global collaboration. According to a 2024 report by Smithers, the global printing market is projected to reach $821 billion by 2026, with packaging constituting over 50% of the sector’s revenue. OPA’s programs, including workshops, certifications, and international trade summits, have empowered thousands of professionals to adapt to evolving technologies like digital printing and eco-friendly packaging solutions. The organization’s influence is particularly notable in the corrugation segment, which, per a 2023 Allied Market Research study, is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.8% from 2023 to 2032, driven by demand for lightweight and sustainable packaging. OPA’s advocacy for innovative materials and processes has positioned it as a thought leader in this space.

The World Corrugation Forum, now in its fourth edition, has emerged as a premier platform for industry dialogue. This year’s event attracted 300 experts from 30 countries, focusing on lightweight packaging innovations that align with global sustainability goals. Topics included biodegradable corrugated materials, automation in packaging lines, and smart supply chain integration—areas where OPA has been a vocal proponent.

Accepting the honour on behalf of OPA, Prof. Kamal Mohan Chopra expressed gratitude to the organizers and highlighted the forum’s significance. “The World Corrugation Forum continues to be a catalyst for transformative ideas,” said Prof. Chopra. “As we unite global leaders to explore cutting-edge solutions, OPA remains committed to shaping a sustainable and innovative future for the industry.”

The recognition at WCF 2025 reinforces OPA’s mission to bridge markets and technologies across continents. With upcoming initiatives like the Global Print Summit 2026 and expanded training programs, OPA aims to further strengthen its network, which already spans over 50 countries and includes 10,000+ industry professionals, as per OPA’s 2024 annual report.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed call for collaboration to address challenges like rising material costs and environmental regulations, ensuring the printing and packaging industry thrives in an increasingly competitive landscape.
