Organizers of rides ordered to get safety certificates 

• Safety protocols to be displayed prominently
• District Magistrate issues orders in this regard

Ludhiana, June 26, 2024: District Magistrate Sakshi Sawhney on Wednesday issued orders to ensure all agencies managing rides in kids play zones located in various shopping malls/markets etc fulfill safety protocols  in the district Ludhiana.

Exercising the powers vested under Section 144, Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC), 1973, the Deputy Commissioner has ordered that all rides, play area fitments to be serviced and their safety certificates must be submitted with the authorities. A safety protocol incharge should be there for all kids play areas to supervise the safety protocols. 

Besides, safety protocols for all rides , machines in kids play areas should be publicly displayed prominently for general public. A medical emergency protocol must be in place to handle any medical emergency at the place. Structural Stability Certificate for all rides must also be submitted. 

DM Sawhney also said that all these certificates would be submitted to the Municipal Corporation and EOs of Nagar Councils in their respective Jurisdictions in a period of 15 days. She said that the district administration would not compromise on the safety aspect. Any violation of these orders will be strictly dealt with as per Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

These orders will remain in place w.e.f. from today till further orders. These orders will be enforced by the Commissioner, Police, Ludhiana, Senior Superintendents of Police, Ludhiana (Rural) and Khanna.
