Orientation Ceremony for New BDS and MDS Batch Held at Sharda School of Dental Sciences
New Mobile Dental Van launched at Sharda University
Sharda University's School of Dental Sciences hosted the orientation ceremony for the new batches of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) students. Along with this, a new mobile dental van equipped with cutting-edge technology was also launched. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Chancellor P.K. Gupta; Vice Chancellor Y.K. Gupta; Padma Shri Professor Dr. Mahesh Vermal, Vice Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University; and Special Guest I.A.S. Dr. D.S. Gangwar, President of AIIMS, Rewari. Vice Chancellor Dr. Sibaram Khara, Dean, Dr. Swati Sharma, and Dean of Research, Dr. Bhuvnesh Kumar.
Chancellor P.K. Gupta emphasized “that the initiative not only aims to enhance dental healthcare access but also to train the next generation of dental professionals to meet the needs of the community. He described it as a crucial step toward expanding dental care access for underserved communities and providing hands-on practical training in dentistry”.
In his address, Padma Shri Professor Dr. Mahesh Verma spoke about the significant advancements in the field of dentistry, highlighting the bright future for students in this domain. He stressed the importance of hard work and dedication, noting that a skilled doctor is one who can heal not only with medicine but also through their conduct and care. He encouraged the students to take full advantage of the institute’s technology and modern equipment, which enhances their learning experience.
Dr. M. Siddharth, Dean of the School of Dental Sciences, provided insights into the new mobile unit, which is equipped with advanced features such as digital imaging, sterilization equipment, and a dedicated treatment area. A specialized team of doctors will visit local schools and areas through this van to offer high-quality dental care at affordable rates.
