Orientation program for newly admitted students for coaching for IAS
Major objective of program was to make students aware of academic aspect of course
Chandigarh: The Centre for IAS and Other Competitive Examinations, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized an orientation program for the newly admitted students for coaching for IAS, here today. The major objective of the program was to make the students aware of the academic aspect of this course, the rules and regulations of the centre.
Dr. S.Karuna Raju, IAS, Chief Electoral Officer cum Secretary of Govt. of Punjab addressed the newly joined students briefed about the importance of an India Administrative Service Officer. He motivated the students to work hard and wished for their success.
Prof. Parmjit, Director, Centre for IAS and Other Competitive Examinations, in her welcome address explained the objectives of the significance of Centre and in bringing the best in the students. She shared the achievements of the centre in last two years.
She apprised the participants that 10 students from this centre cleared their PCS Judicial exam in 2018, 5 students cleared PCS Executive exam in 2019. Mr. Manpreet Singh, student of this centre, cleared his IAS Preliminary as well as mains examination. Mr. Parminderpal Singh cleared his UPSC CDS Exam and Mr. Robin Singh cleared his ADO LIC exam. Number of students cleared their UGC Exam. All of these students were honored by the honorable Chief Guest. Prof. Parmjit also mentioned about the new course, PCS(Judicial), to be started in February 2020.
In the end, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Coordinator, offered a vote of thanks to all including Dr. S.Karuna Raju, Prof Parmjit and participants for gracing the occasion by their solemn presence.
