ORIENTATION PROGRAMME HELD AT SCHOOL OF BUSINESS STUDIES, PAU

An orientation programme was organized by the School of Business Studies (SBS), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), for the MBA and MBA (Agri Business) students of 2023-25 batch. Two alumni lectures were also organized on the occasion to nurture the students academically and widen their horizons.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME HELD AT SCHOOL OF BUSINESS STUDIES, PAU

Ludhiana, September 5,2023: An orientation programme was organized by the School of Business Studies (SBS), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), for the MBA and MBA (Agri Business) students of 2023-25 batch. Two alumni lectures were also organized on the occasion to nurture the students academically and widen their horizons.

Vikram Sidhu and his wife Parneet Sidhu, while sharing their entrepreneurial journey with the students, emphasized on availing the opportunities being presented, starting with small steps and making it big via skill development.

Ravinder Kaur, working with Google at California, USA, shared her experience as a management alumna from SBS, PAU and provided tips for developing a good sense of self-awareness. Considering the two years at PAU as a training ground, she told students how the learning prepared them for struggles ahead. She called upon the students to find their own motivation, understand their strengths and weaknesses, identify the opportunities that come their way, ask right questions, develop the skill of empathy by being a good listener, and become good leaders by practicing everything themselves.

Dr Ramandeep Singh, Director of SBS, introduced the students to various endeavors of PAU, like lab-to-land programme, Society for Advancement of Academics, Sports and Cultural Activities (SAASCA), and Management Science Association (MSA). He sensitized the students on the importance of having high emotional quotient so that building good relationships comes easy to youths and they are well-versed with the feeling of empathy. He also guided students towards making a sizable societal contribution, and on learning from their failures and analyzing their faults. Dr Singh highlighted the vital contribution made by the SBS in producing skilled entrepreneurs.

Dr Gagandeep Banga and Dr Mohit Gupta, Professors at SBS, shared semester rules with the students, while Dr Yash Paul Sachdeva, Professor of SBS (retd.), informed about the advisory system at PAU.

Dr Sandeep Kapoor, Professor, SBS, underlined the need, importance and benefits of personality development.

Dr Babita Kumar and Dr Khushdeep Dharni, Professors at SBS, explained the research system, and extension and placement activities.

Dr Babita along with Dr Rakesh Rathore, Assistant Professor, SBS, told the students about Management Science Association (MSA) and Ludhiana Management Association (LMA) activities.

The details about SAASCA activities and anti-ragging rules were shared by Dr Sukhmani, Assistant Professor, SBS, whereas, summer training activities and infrastructure at PAU and SBS were shared by Dr Navdeep Aggarwal and Dr LM Kathuria, Professors at SBS, respectively.

Dr Ramandeep Singh in the capacity of President Sports at College of Basic Sciences and Humanities (COBSH), and Dr Sukhbir Singh, Secretary Sports, COBSH, enlightened the students about various sports activities and sports infrastructure at PAU.

Dr Sarishma Sharma conducted the programme and proposed a vote of thanks. Students shared their educational qualifications, hobbies and diverse areas of interest.
