Orientation programme on Environment Education Programme at PU Campus
NSS, Panjab University (PU) organised one day orientation programme on Environment Education Programme at PU Campus. The programme was attended by about 82 colleges of Punjab affiliated to the PU.
Chandigarh, November 7, 2024: NSS, Panjab University (PU) organised one day orientation programme on Environment Education Programme at PU Campus. The programme was attended by about 82 colleges of Punjab affiliated to the PU.
A Report on Environment Education Programme was released on the occasion. A Mission Life Pledge was also taken by the participants. Best Performing colleges out of 6 districts were facilitated. Training on PFMS and My Bharat Portal was also given to the participants.
Chairman of Punjab Pollution Control Board Prof. Adarsh Pal Vig addressed and sensitised everyone about the issues faced due to pollution and the alternatives to stubble burning. Joint Director, Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST), Dr. K.S. Bath, and PSCST Project Scientist Dr. Mandakini Thakur addressed about the importance of eco clubs and explained about registration of Eco Clubs. The Valedictory function was graced as chief guest by PU DCDC Prof Sanjay Kaushik.
The programme was conducted under the aegis of Punjab State Council for Science and Technology under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change in the guidance of Dr. Parveen Goyal, Coordinator Eco Club-cum-Programme Coordinator, NSS, PU, Dr.Sonia Sharma, Programme Officer, NSS, PU and Prof. Rajat Sandhir, Coordinator Eco club. Mr. Jai Bhagwan, RD, NSS, Chandigarh and Ms. Rupinder Kaur, SNO, Punjab were also present during the inaugural function.
