Chandigarh, September 9, 2024: Centre for Public Health, Panjab University, Chandigarh inaugurated the new academic year with an orientation programme today at the Seminar Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
This pivotal event welcomed new students under the patronage of Prof. Renu Vig, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University. The programme was coordinated by Dr.Komal Sehgal, with significant contributions from Dr. Manoj Kumar, Assistant Professor
at the Centre.
Presenting a visionary perspective on the future of public health education and research through open learning platforms, the Chief Guest, Prof. Arun K. Aggarwal, Head, Department of Community Medicine, School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing the scope of public health, and highlighting the importance of Developing excellence in the niche of interest to capture experience and turn garbage to gold. Further Dr. Neena Raina , Former Director WHO-SEARO and Executive Director- SWACH, enlightened the participants with the universal coverage idea of, 'Leaving No One Behind', and highlighted the need for women and child care in the community. The address provided a source of inspiration and set a forward-looking tone for the academic year. This collective energy fostered a collaborative and motivating environment, setting a strong foundation for a successful and innovative year ahead.
