Over 200 motor enthusiasts take part in Indian Motorsport Carnival

The Indian Motorsports Carnival (IMC), an iconic event licensed with the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), proved a grand success with over 200 participations from across the country. A first-of-its-kind sporting event held at Shalimar Ground, Sector 5, Panchkula,  drew avid spectators numbering more 2000.

Panchkula, May 1, 2024: The Indian Motorsports Carnival (IMC), an iconic event licensed with the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), proved a grand success with over 200 participations from across the country. A first-of-its-kind sporting event held at Shalimar Ground, Sector 5, Panchkula,  drew avid spectators numbering more 2000.

JJ Sandhu was declared overall winner in Autocross, Shafat from Delhi and Trivender Negi were the fastest in their classes. Among top overall performers were JJ Sandhu, Tivender Negi, Manender Singh, Harpreet Bawa, and Jatin Aggarwal.

Shekhar Tyagi, Prithvi Dhillon, Drithman & Santosh Bishnoi won in the Motocross segment.

Mankaran Bhambra, Jaswant Matharu, Harman Benipal, Rupinder, Bhuvan clinched the first position in their respective classes in the off-road competition

Yashvir Singh Sandhu, an avid motorsport enthusiast having experience of more than 10 years in organising  professional rallying events, and CEO, Indian Motor Car Rally (IMC), said that the Indian Motorsport Carnival, which holds a significant place in the nation’s automotive culture and history, embodying the spirit of adventure, endurance, and camaraderie, saw Jeeps, SUVs and Gypsies among others in different hues, adding a new kind of aura to the event.

Reflecting further, he said that the Indian Motorsport Carnival, as one of the most prestigious motor rallies in India, serves as a platform for enthusiasts, professionals, and spectators alike to celebrate the country’s rich automotive heritage and showcase technological advancements in the field.

It is noteworthy that Sandhu has marshalled 8x SJOBA Rally, 1x Rally of Himalayas, 1x Rally of Chamba, 1x Desert Storm among various other motorsport events.  "IMC was an FMSCI licensed event where all safety protocols were followed," added Sandhu.

Beyond its role as a thrilling sporting event, the rally promotes a sense of unity and pride, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to share their passion for automobiles and explore the breath-taking landscapes of India, he said.

Sandhu summed up, "The governments should promote such sporting events to give a fillip to tourism and economic development by highlighting the scenic beauty and cultural diversity of the regions it traverses."

Sandhu informed that the next event under the IMC banner, will be held on June 21 in the tricity.
