Over 8400 inoculated at covid vaccination camps in mandis so far: Lal Singh
State control room resolves 746 telephonic complaints
Chandigarh: Ensuring the wellbeing of farmers, arthiyas, labourers and other stakeholders during ongoing wheat procurement amid COVID-19, the Punjab Government has vaccinated more than 8400 persons so far during special camps organized at grain markets across the state.
Disclosing this here today, Chairman Punjab Mandi Board Lal Singh informed that Special COVID Vaccination Camps set up in all 154 Market Committees in the state to administer vaccine to the people above the age of 45 years visiting grain markets during the current Rabi Marketing Season.
He further said that 8402 eligible persons including farmers, arthiyas, labourers, employees of procurement agencies and other stakeholders have been inoculated till date in the mandis across the state and Patiala was leading in this vaccination drive followed by Ferozepur and Jalandhar mandis during ongoing procurement season.
Ensuring prompt redressal of complaints and issues regarding wheat procurement, the State Control Room set up by the Punjab Mandi Board has effectively resolved all 746 telephonic complaints/issues related to wheat procurement so far to the satisfaction of the farmers while the remaining ones in pipeline.
While visiting the Control Room at Mandi Board, Chairman said that the detailed instructions have been issued to officers/officials of Control Room to immediately address the queries and complaints related to wheat procurement especially in the trying circumstances of COVID-19. He said that in case any farmer or other stakeholder faces any hardship in procurement operations he could contact at the Control Room number provided for the respective districts.
