Jalandhar, February 3, 2013: The overloaded speedy tractor -trollies with sugarcane can be witnessed on the National Highways.
These vehicles always pose threat for accidents.
BJP senior leader Vipan Sharma said it was strange that such a thing was taking place.
Another senior leader of the party Parvinder Bajaj said besides overloaded speedy tractor- trollies in the day time and even during night, even trucks loaded with iron bars without reflectors were also posing a great threat to human lives in the night.
Both the leaders have urged upon the Minister for Transportation, Punjab to seriously look into the matter to check this kind of practice on the National Highways.
They believed that there was a need to educate people about the safety measures to check possibilities of occurrence of the road accidents. They said it should be strictly ensured that the vehicles got installed reflectors.
