Talwandi Sabo, March 16, 2016: Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabi organised a painting exhibition and sketch competition in the Campus in the coordination of D.S.Jogi, (Assistant DSW). The main motive of the programme was to hunt the hidden talent among the students. Sukhdev Singh a renowned painting artist exhibited his paintings in this function. S.Gurdev Singh Kota Fatta, Admin Officer GKU stated that Faridkot born artist Sukhdev Singh is playing with colours since 1962 and worked with love, passion and utmost sincerity. Two of his poster-paintings were published by Punjab Education Deptt. under the scheme “To prepare motivational visuals” financed by UNICEF. On the 25th Punjab Day, District Bathinda administration honoured him for his contribution in the field of art. He displayed his works at many solo shows and combined exhibitions.
During the exhibition the painting were displayed in the themes of emotions, love, nature, Sikh History and almost reflected every colour of life. Dr. N.S. Malhi formally inaugurated the exhibition along with artist Sukhdev Singh and the other authority of GKU. A painting competition were also organized parallely. Around 20 students participated from constituent colleges of the University. Dr. Malhi appreciated the efforts of the university staff and congratulated the artist for his sincere and directional works on the canvas.
