Pakistani drone drops 3.5 kg heroin worth Rs.18 crores
The sleuths belonging to 136 Battalion of BSF and Ferozepur police recovered 3.5 kg heroin worth Rs. 18 crores, which was dropped by a Pakistani drone in the fields situated near the border fencing near BOP Mabboke in Ferozepur Sector.
Ferozepur, June 30, 2022: The sleuths belonging to 136 Battalion of BSF and Ferozepur police recovered 3.5 kg heroin worth Rs. 18 crores, which was dropped by a Pakistani drone in the fields situated near the border fencing near BOP Mabboke in Ferozepur Sector.
While divulging information, Charanjit Singh SSP said that the officials deputed at Mamdot police station had received information regarding the movement of suspected drone near BOP Mabbo ke in Mamdot area on the intervening night of 28-29 June. “Following the sighting of the drone, the BSF troops on duty also fired 12 rounds and two “Ilu” bombs on the drone following which the drone flew away. Following the information, the entire area was cordoned off with the help of BSF officials from 136 Battalion”, said SSP.
“Today morning, a joint search operation was carried out in the entire area. During the investigation, one Balwant Singh alias Pappu, a resident of Village Kalu Araiya Hithar informed the police that he has spotted a packet in adjoining fields. Later a polythene bag containing five small plastic packets of heroin weighing 3.5 kg, was recovered”, said. SSP.
Meanwhile, the police has registered an FIR against unidentified person under 21, 61, 85 NDPS Act (FIR No. 29.06.2022).
