PAMETI to start Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI)

Ludhiana: The Punjab Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (PAMETI), PAU Campus, Ludhiana is conducting Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI) under the sponsorship of National Institute of Agriculture Extension Management (MANAGE)-Hyderabad, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, GoI. As per guidelines issued by ministry, the input dealers are required to have a degree in Agricultural Sciences/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Life Sciences or a B.Sc. in Chemistry, Botany or Zoology from a recognised or may undergo this diploma programme to continue their services as authorised dealers/distributors. 

Dr Harjeet Singh Dhaliwal, Director, PAMETI, informed that considering the above objective, PAMETI is starting two batches of this programme for candidates from Ludhiana district only. One batch of this program is meant for practicing input dealers having valid license and second batch would be for fresh candidates who aspire to become input dealers after attaining this diploma certificate. PAMETI is to conduct this programme either on Saturday or Sunday only, which is spread over a period of 48 weeks with 40 classroom sessions and 8 field visits. 

He said that the educational qualification for both “Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI) for practicing Input Dealers (License Holders)” and “Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI)-for fresh candidates” is matriculation and the course has 48 weeks of classes (One day in a week). He informed that age is no bar and the fee for DAESI for practicing Input Dealers (License Holders) is Rs 10,000 while for DAESI-for fresh candidates, its Rs 20,000. He informed that there are 40 seats for each batch which will be allocated to applicants on first come first serve basis.

He informed that interested candidates may send their application to PAMETI Office, PAU Campus, Ludhiana in the enclosed format with self-attested copies along with a Copy of  certificate of 10th class, Copy of Aadhar card, Copy of License for sale of inputs (not required for fresh candidates), Two  coloured passport size photographs, Bank  Draft of mentioned amount in favour of   PAMETI Revolving Fund Account
