PANEL Discussion by faculty of IIM at PTU Main Campus

Kapurthala, July 10, 2013: The Department of Management at Punjab Institute of Technology, Kapurthala- the Main Campus of Punjab Technical University organises Guest Lectures and Panel Discussion by Prof. Dheeraj Sharma Chairperson, Area of Marketing, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and Dr. Devinder Singh Sidhu, Assistant Professor, Punjabi University. They interacted with the Faculty, Research Scholars and Students of the Main Campus of PTU.

Dr. Sharma talked about the Role of Marketing Management in Society and the need for industry-academia alliances in management education in India and across the globe. He expressed the need for scientific inquiry and curiosity in academic research in management. Dr. Devinder Sidhu spoke on Consumerism and Cross-cultural Research in India. The focus of his talk was on rising consumption in India and its impact on the Indian Economy. Both the experts spoke on how management students, faculty and researchers at PTU should join hands to build a better society.

They proposed models for forging alliances with Indian companies and how faculty, staff and students can implement such models during their teaching and learning process. Department of Management at PIT, Kapurthala is an upcoming main teaching and research campus of PTU that has joined hands with top institutes and companies in India as well as abroad. The Department focuses on practical teaching methods in their primary program of MBA.
