Chandigarh, April 15, 2024: Panjab University is delighted to announce the successful funding of a ground-breaking research project in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University, UK. Titled "Self-Powered Wearable Biosensor Integrated with Nanopore and Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Non-Invasive Health Monitoring," the project falls within the thrust area of Semiconductors and represents a significant stride towards innovation in healthcare technology.
This joint endeavour has been awarded funding by UK India Education Research Initiative (UKIERI-4) for the period of 2024-2025 and the Scheme for Promotion of Academic & Research Collaboration (SPARC), Phase 3, for the duration of 2024-2026.
The funding details are as follows:
• UKIERI-4 has approved a grant of £55,780 for the collaborating institute in the UK. The project is slated to commence on March 27, 2024, and conclude on March 31, 2025.
• Under SPARC-3, Panjab University and PGIMER have been awarded a grant of Rs 59,97,513. The project duration spans from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2026.
This collaboration brings together expertise from Panjab University and Nottingham Trent University to develop a self-powered wearable biosensor that integrates nanopore and triboelectric nanogenerator technologies. The aim is to enable non-invasive health monitoring, revolutionizing the way healthcare is delivered and enhancing the quality of life for individuals worldwide.
