Panjab University hosts EnviroFest: “Connecting Communities for a Greener Tomorrow”
The Department of Environment Studies at Panjab University recently hosted Enviro-Fest, centered on the theme “Connecting Communities for a Greener Tomorrow.”
Chandigarh, September 27, 2024: The Department of Environment Studies at Panjab University recently hosted Enviro-Fest, centered on the theme “Connecting Communities for a Greener Tomorrow.”
This event aimed to promote sustainable practices and envision a better future for our environment. Dr. Rajeev Kumar, chairperson welcomed all the guests and participants. Prof. Amit Chauhan, Dean of Student Welfare, served as the chief guest for the occasion.
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Byung Jin Lee from South Korea, who shared valuable insights and experiences regarding sustainable practices. Dr. Manoj Teotia followed with an engaging presentation on his work in promoting sustainable development. The valedictory session featured Prof. Ganga Ram Chaudhary, Director of SAIF/CIL, as the chief guest.
The day was filled with interactive activities designed to foster community engagement and sustainability, such as a poster presentation competition and a treasure hunt. Approximately 100 students participated in the event, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm for environmental issues.
Winners of the poster presentation competition were: Archana Negi, Tundup Dolma and Manmeet Kaur (Ph.D Category) & Arshdeep Kaur sahi, Sejal Malik and Chahat (M.Sc. Environment Studies) and the treasure hunt winners were: Ishika Group, Ameesha Group and Nandini Group.
