The workshop is in a series through a project sanctioned by Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh under the Environment Education Program of MoEF&CC. This creative initiative is a brainchild of Dr Jaspreet Kaur, who has been actively working on these lines with a moto of ‘Beat Plastic Plant Life’. Dr Jaspreet believes that the project is a creative response to the global challenge of plastic pollution. Gaurav  Gaur, Chairperson, Centre for Social Work collaborated by incorporating a hands-on approach to repurposing waste plastic bottles into artistic pieces facilitating skill development. Through this initiative, Panjab University aims to empower rural women by imparting valuable skills that not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also open doors for potential socio-economic opportunities, Gaur shared.
