Ludhiana: A meeting of Bank Employees Retired Association Ludhiana was organized today at State Bank of India Employees’ Union (SBIEU), Chandigarh Circle Ludhiana office in support of Naresh Gaur, General Secretary, SBIEU Chandigarh Circle for the upcoming Panjab University Senate Elections 2021. M.L.Bhagat, A.K.Chibber, Ashok Malhan and other retired leaders addressed the meeting.
Initiating the meeting, Bhagat said that this election was not a simple one but a battle to save the existence of the university. He further said that some miscreants are trying to infiltrate in the management of university on a large scale. They are hatching deep conspiracies to destroy this heritage of Punjab and turn it into a Central University. Their agenda is to abolish the people's elected Senate and hand over all powers to their bosses. It is of utmost importance that a representative from the common people must be sent to Senate and there cannot be better choice than Sh. Naresh Gaur, who is having a great past of working in the PU as Senate and Syndicate Member from last 2 terms and struggle against the exploitation. Therefore, it is important for us to succeed our long time struggling Sh. Naresh Gaur once again to save Panjab University.
In the meeting, the agenda of voting and supporting Gaur in the Senate Elections was unanimously passed by the Bank Employees Retired Association Ludhiana and it was decided to convene more meetings in the coming days to support and help their candidate’s victory, said the association’s deputy general secretary Narkesar Rai.
