Chandigarh, March 5, 2025: The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) at Panjab University organized a two-day workshop on "Practical Aspects of Risk and Foreign Exchange Management" on March 5-6, 2025 with the gracious presence of the Director – Prof. Monika Aggarwal, Faculty Coordinators – Dr.AmanKhera and Dr.Madhur Sharma, UIAMS Faculty, Organisers and students.
The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application in managing financial risk. Professional expert from the industry, KunalHanda, Cluster Head at HDFC Bank Limited shared his insights and expertise with students, providing an in-depth understanding of foreign exchange market operations, exchange rate fluctuations, and the use of derivatives.
On Day One, the expert delivered an interactive session, covering practical case studies and aspects of different types of risks and mitigating strategies. The session was impactful and delivered on the proposed outcome. The second day of the workshop will delve into foreign exchange market operations. Handa will cover Foreign Exchange Market operations, Exchange Rate Fluctuations and Use of Derivatives like financial Instruments for managing financial and currency risk.
Professor Monika Aggarwal, Director at UIAMS, emphasized the importance of the workshop, stating, "In today's rapidly evolving global economy, it is essential for students to acquire practical knowledge of financial risk management. This workshop aims to equip students with the necessary skills to make informed financial decisions."
