Pankhuri Awasthy’s Dum laga ke haisha moment with Yukti Kapoor on sets of Sony SAB’s Maddam Sir
Sony SAB’s Maddam Sir has amassed a tremendous fan following for its light-hearted, value-driven, and thought-provoking storyline. The viewers have poured in their love and appreciation for the four heroic female police officers - SHO Haseena Malik (Gulki Joshi), Karishma Singh (Yukti Kapoor), Santosh (Bhavika Sharma) and Pushpa (Sonali Naik) fighting the lawbreakers with their out-of-the-box solutions. Now, the Mahila Police Thana is set to become even stronger with the entry of an Artificial Intelligence Officer, Mira (Pankhuri Awasthy) who is about to shake things up with her distinctive ways. Taking the excitement notches higher, her dhamakedar entry with Karishma Singh amidst a fire sequence has already garnered immense appreciation from the fans.
Yukti Kapoor and Pankhuri Awasthy spilled the beans about their experience of shooting. Here’s what they said:
Pankhuri Awasthy, essaying the role of Artificial Intelligence Officer Mira, said, “The experience of shooting my first ever scene on the sets of Maddam Sir was nothing less than an adventurous ride. I have always loved action scenes, and during my first sequence, I had to save sub-inspector Karishma Singh and a child from a building caught in fire and carry them on my shoulders which seemed like a challenge to accomplish. The plan was to use a dummy instead, but I thought why not give it a try? I did the stunt by myself, picked up a kid on one shoulder and Yukti on the other, it was like being possessed with super-strength, like a superhero moment for me, much like what my character MIRA is about. Although wouldn’t have been possible without all my co actors being very very supportive and uplifting. The sequence sure gave me an adrenalin rush and was extremely exciting as I had never done something like that on television or in real life before. The audience has loved the scene, and their appreciation makes our efforts so worthwhile.”
Yukti Kapoor, essaying the role of sub-inspector Karishma Singh, said, “I was thanking my stars when I was briefed about the fire scene as I was getting an opportunity to do something I haven’t tried before. The show is taking an exciting turn with the entry of the AI Mira. The viewers will love the upcoming episodes, and the dynamic between Karishma and Mira will keep them hooked from the word go. My character is quite outspoken and already feels uncomfortable with the idea of a highly efficient robot joining the team as it might threaten our jobs. So, the viewers will get to witness amusing banters between Karishma and Mira, an over expressive human and a robot whose arguments will surely add newer elements to the show.”
