Sangrur, March 16, 2024: Region’ leading healthcare provider Paras Health Panchkula on Saturday announced the launch of Department of Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy Orthopaedics and Arthroplasty for all joints.
Talking to media at Sangrur, Dr. Ravi Gupta, Chairman- Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, Joint Replacement and Trauma at Paras Health, Panchkula said that Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure where the problems of joints are treated by key hole surgery. Due to minimal invasive surgery, the patient starts moving the operated joint on the same day and does not require any plaster.
We recommend this surgery for all the joints mainly in sports related injuries or even any other injuries in knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip and ankle joints.
During the procedure, the doctors will insert a tool called an arthroscope into the joint through several small key hole cuts to see how much damage is in the joint. They can also repair the damage during the same surgery through the same key hole cuts, informed Dr. Ravi Gupta.
Dr Ravi Gupta joined Paras Healthcare recently as Chairman- Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, Joint Replacement and Trauma . Dr Gupta is the pioneer of starting the procedure of arthroscopy of many joints in India.
He also told Paras Health, Panchkula has the most advanced and latest technology as well as infrastructure.
Recently Dr. Gupta treated a 35-year-old sportsperson from Canada through Elbow Arthroscopy.
The patient had already undergone one surgery for his right elbow in Canada after a fracture. After the surgery his elbow turned severely stiff to the extent that he was unable to perform his daily routine activities by himself
The condition did not improve despite the patient consulted many doctors and physiotherapists in Canada and India.
After failing to get any improvement in elbow he consulted at Paras Health, Panchkula, where Consultant Dr. Ravi Gupta has performed Elbow Arthroscopy on the patient.
