Gurgaon, June 3, 2019: In a move to observe the ‘World No Tobacco Day’, Paras Hospital in the city today introduces lung cancer screening clinic and low-dose CT scan, a facility that will make screening for lung cancer faster and accurate. A low-dose CT scan is a quick, painless, and non-invasive approach to screen for lung cancer with very minimal radiation exposure compared to conventional CT Scan.

The premier healthcare facility is leading the way for Lung Cancer Awareness in City/State.

Survivors of tobacco related complex Cancer Cases treated by Paras Doctors speaks against tobacco use

In the first case, Mrs. Rachna Sharma (Name Changed ) (48) was admitted with complaint of weakness and was diagnosed with non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC). Dr. Kaushal Yadav successfully operated her, following which she received chemotherapy.

Dr. Kushal Yadav and Dr. Deepak Jain performed an infrastructure maxillectomy on the right side, for a case of oral cavity cancer. As case was detected and treated in early stage no additional treatment was required.

Oral cavity cancers are most common cancers among Indian male population. Lung cancer remains the third most common type of cancer in India, affecting 7.5% and is most common cause of cancer related mortality. Tobacco is leading cause of both these cancers and these efforts for avoiding tobacco, awareness and treatment of cancer at earlier stages are requirement of today’s time.

Paras Hospital will also organise a 5-km long Marathon on Sunday (2 June, 2019) from Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon to Huda City Center and then back to Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon to raise awareness against the rampant use of tobacco. The marathon will be organised in collaboration with Indian Medical Association (IMA), Gurgaon chapter, and will be attended by Dr Jai Bhagwan Bansal, President, IMA and Dr Ajay Gupta, Secretary, IMA.
