Parking Woes to End: NHLML Chairman Promises 750 Parking slots along Elevated Highway
MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora, met Vinay Kumar, Chairman, National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) which comes under the aegis of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), to discuss the urgent need for expediting the construction of parking facilities along the elevated highway in Ludhiana.
Ludhiana, September 4, 2024: MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora, met Vinay Kumar, Chairman, National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) which comes under the aegis of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), to discuss the urgent need for expediting the construction of parking facilities along the elevated highway in Ludhiana.
MP Arora emphasised the critical importance of this project in easing traffic congestion, which affects local businesses and commuters. MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi has been diligently following up with MP Arora to get this finalised with the concerned authority. He informed the Chairman that he has been in regular contact with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and NHAI Chairman, stressing the project's significance as this would help more footfall to local businesses. Parking slots and footpaths will come up on the service road along with both sides of Elevated Highway with an approximate cost of Rs.7 Crore.
The Chairman understanding the gravitas of the situation assured MP Arora that approvals will be granted within this month covering 14 locations with a parking capacity of around 750 vehicles, including but not limited to Bharat Nagar Chowk, DC Office, Bhai Bala Chowk, Park Plaza, Novelty, Nagpal Regency, Aarti Chowk, Maharaja Regency, Kaka Marriage Palace, Malhar Road, PAU Gate No.1, PAU Gate No. 2, Jagdish Store and Sidhwan Canal.
MP Arora appreciated the Chairman's prompt response and commitment to addressing the traffic congestion issue in Ludhiana.
