PARTIES OF CHANDIGARH MOVE ONLINE AMID COVID-19 LOCKDOWN, DANCE, LOVE AND POSITIVITY STILL ALIVE

Chandigarh: COVID-19 lockdown may have shut clubs but the spirit to love, dance and be alive goes on. Rotaract Club Chandigarh and RAC MCM DAV joined hands to put together an eConcert Called ‘Night Pulse’ to break the monotony of the lockdown. The live party was joined together by over 200 youngsters on Saturday night (May 02) through an online premium app (Zoom). Idea of the party was conceptualized by Rtr.Garima Madaan, Gen-Secretary, RAC Chandigarh Shivalik.
The party began by paying tribute to Covid-19 warriors Health workers, security workers and journalists and later continued to be something completely amazing. Rotaractors filled the evening with various songs ranging from melodies of yester-years to the rocking music of 2020 and brewing together the perfect mix of Hindi, English, Punjabi, Spanish and Tamil songs. Apart from over 100 youngsters from Chandigarh, participants from various states like Punjab, Haryana, Pune and Tamil Nadu too lit up the virtual stage and performers from various Rotaract clubs showcased their hidden dancing talents. Not only did this virtual concert uplift spirits, it also gave the opportunity of having a long needed work out session, giving a chance to flex our muscle and jive to the rhythm. It proved to be a refreshing break from the quarantine life. One needn’t stop having fun in order to maintain social distancing!
RCCS President Rtr. Shashank said, “Nothing can dampen our spirits, we are fighting this situation the best we can. With online parties, we are trying to bring normalcy to life, we Rotaractors are doing all we can from feeding strays, raising funds to feed under-privileged, online learning and of course online parties. Party goes on. Nothing can stop us, not even Corona virus. We advice people to not lose hope, stay at home and make the best use of time and pray for all”
The evening was a big success with copious amounts of energy and enthusiasm. The club wishes to come up with more ideas like this in order to keep participants charged up and help curb the lockdown blues amidst the pandemic. The spirit of people is still alive and bright as ever. The party goes on, be it on our devices or in our hearts.
