Parvasi Sahit Adhyan Kender of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana released the 31st (January-March America special) issue of Parvas Magazine, which contains information about Punjabi writers, literature and literary societies of America.
Ludhiana, January 21, 2023: Parvasi Sahit Adhyan Kender of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana released the 31st (January-March America special) issue of Parvas Magazine, which contains information about Punjabi writers, literature and literary societies of America. This event was chaired by Surinder Singh Sunnar, President, Lok Manch, Punjab.
Prof. Gurbhajan Gill, Chairman, Lok Virasat Academy, Ludhiana and Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal, President, Punjabi Sahitya Academy, Ludhiana were special guests and Immigrant Punjabi writers Charan Singh (Canada), Angrej Singh Brar (Canada), Bhupinder Malli (Canada), Mandeep Brar (Australia), Amanjit Kaur Sharma (USA) also graced the occasion.
At the beginning of the program Dr. S. P. Singh, Former Vice-Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and current President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council formally welcomed everyone and said that in the 31st issue of the trimonthly magazine Parvas, the lives of about 150 immigrant writers living in America and their literary contribution is described in detail and along with this a valuable information about literary societies functioning in America, their establishment, objectives and achievements are also published.
Prof. Gurbhajan Gill, Chairman Punjabi Lok Virasat Academy, Ludhiana and Chief Advisor of Parvas Magazine while praising the magazine published by Parvasi Sahitya Studiya Kendra said that this magazine has established its unique identity across the world. He said that in this issue, the articles written by Dr. Gurdev singh Sidhu describing the literature of Gadar movement in America, Dr. Dhanwant Kaur's about the American Punjabi story and other articles on American Punjabi Poetry by Sukhwinder Kamboj, Ravinder Sehra and Kulwinder provide a valuable insights into the American Punjabi Literature.
While discussing the various challenges faced by the migrants, Surinder Singh Sunnar praised the efforts of Parvasi Sahit Adhyan Kender that prepared an encyclopedia of immigrant Punjabi writers living all over the world.
Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal said on this occasion that the Parvasi Sahit Adhyan Kender has played a big role in providing a unique platform to the writers living in America and in all other countries. Immigrant writers shared their creative world and experiences of migration with the audience.
Head of Post Graduate Punjabi Department Prof. Sharanjit Kaur gave detailed information to the audience about this issue of Parvas.
Principal of the college Dr. Arvinder Singh formally thanked everyone and said that the Parvasi Sahit Adhyan Kender will continue to carry out such activities in the future.
Coordinator of the Centre, Dr. Tejinder Kaur expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all the American writers who have given their full support for this issue.
