Passengers of Saryu Yamuna Express suffer


Jalandhar, October 16, 2012: The passengers of the 14649/14650 Saryu Yammuna express had a tough time on 15 th Oct 2012 when the train was delayed to give overtake to the other trains at Ambala City, Doraha and Phagwara .

The Train Saryu- Yammuna Express departed from Ambala Cantt at 16-30 hours and reached Jalandhar City at 21-50 p.m. taking 5 hours 20 Minutes to cover distance of 171 k.m. The train was halted at Ambala City for 14 minutes where Nanded sahib Amritsar Super Fast overtook the train. Then at Doraha Three Trains Delhi-Amritsar Super Fast , Jan Shatabdi Express , Garib Rath over took the train.

As the train halted at Doraha for 36 minutes where as the run between Doraha to Ludhiana is mere 20 minutes. Similarly the train was halted for 20 minutes at Ludhiana and for 15 minutes at Phagwara to overtake Shatabdi Express.

One of the passengers travelling from Ambala Cantt to Jalandhar City Amit Anand Bhola said that he was having a necessary work at Jalandhar. He told that the passengers had suffered because of delay. He demanded that the Union Railway Minister, General Manager Northern Railway , Divisional Railway Manager Ambala and Ferozepur should ensure that such a thing should not recur again.
