Patient from Kenya gets cancer treatment in DMCH
A Patient who was suffering from Locally advanced Carcinoma Esophags (stage -III) was referred to Dayanand Medical College & Hospital Ludhiana, from Kenya for further advanced cancer care treatment with latest technology under the guidance of expert team of Oncologists and Radiation Oncologist which included Dr Jagdeep Singh and Dr Manjinder Singh Sidhu.
Ludhiana, October 16, 2023: A Patient who was suffering from Locally advanced Carcinoma Esophags (stage -III) was referred to Dayanand Medical College & Hospital Ludhiana, from Kenya for further advanced cancer care treatment with latest technology under the guidance of expert team of Oncologists and Radiation Oncologist which included Dr Jagdeep Singh and Dr Manjinder Singh Sidhu.
Treating Doctors said that patient had complained of difficulty in swallowing food since 2 months. He took treatment at Kenya but was unable to get any relief.
During the period of treatment, patient received 33 fractions of radiotherapy by IGRT technique and 5 cycles of weekly concurrent chemotherapy along with the other supportive medicines & needful investigations. After Completion of the treatment, he underwent Upper GI Endoscopy to check the success of the treatment. The treatment done at DMC & Hospital was successful and the patient has recovered fully from the esophagus cancer.
During his discharge, patient and his attendant expressed his gratitude for the care and services provided by all the medical staff during his stay at DMCH.
