PAU agricultural graduate awarded fellowship by University of Manitoba, Canada
The project is titled “Use of Oxalic Acid to Control Varroa Mites in Honey Bee Colonies”
Ludhiana: Ms Charu Sharma, an agriculture graduate of 2020 from the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been awarded fellowship by the University of Manitoba, Canada for pursuing her Master’s Programme in Entomology. Ms Charu had graduated from PAU with her Experiential Learning Programme in Commercial Apiculture, and she got so much enthused in apiculture that she decided to pursue her higher studies in this discipline. She will work for her Master’s programme with fellowship of 1,500 CAD per month at the University of Manitoba under the guidance of Dr RW Currie in the project “Use of Oxalic Acid to Control Varroa Mites in Honey Bee Colonies.”
Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor; Dr Karanjeet Singh Thind, Dean, College of Agriculture and Dr Pardeep Kumar Chhuneja, Head, Department of Entomology congratulated Ms Charu Sharma on her admission in Canada with fellowship and wished her success in her future endeavours.
