PAU ALL SET TO HOLD INTER-COLLEGE YOUTH FEST 2016-17

Ludhiana, November 2, 2016: The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is all set to hold “Inter-College Youth Festival 2016-17” from November 3-11, 2016.

The Directorate of Students’ Welfare will organise the fest in which students from constituent colleges of PAU will participate with full vigour.

Giving details, Dr (Mrs) Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Director Students’ Welfare, PAU said that fest would kick off with collage making, creative writing and cartooning events on November 3 followed by poster making, debate, clay modeling and poetic recitation/haas rass events on November 4.

She further informed that competitions in events such as on the spot painting, extempore/elocution and rangoli would be held on November 5 whereas competitions in photography, shabad gayan (group and solo) and quiz would be conducted on November 6. Dr Dhaliwal said that new events such as enu bunana, mitti de khidauney, peedi bunana, chiku bunana and naale bunana have been introduced from this year, in which competitions would be organized on November 7.

The formal inauguration of the youth fest would be held on November 9, she said, adding that competitions in folk songs, solo dances and music items would also be conducted on the same day. Competitions in one act play, mimicry, mime, bhand, lammi hek wale geet and folk dances would be organized on November 10 whereas competitions in skit, mono acting, giddha and bhangra would be held on November 11, she informed. This would be followed by prize distribution ceremony on November 11 at evening, she added. Dr Dhaliwal said that various committees have been constituted for smooth conduct of the youth fest.
