PAU Alumna Wins Best PH. D Thesis Award
Dr Komalpreet Kaur, a former Ph.D Horticulture (Fruit Science) student in the Department of Fruit Science at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been honoured with the “Best Thesis Award” at the International Conference on "Agritech Intelligence and Beyond: Cutting Edge Innovations in Agriculture and Allied Sciences,” organized by the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Kashmir in collaboration with VITAL Biotech (AFTEFS) India, at SKUAST-Kashmir recently.
Ludhiana, December 9, 2024: Dr Komalpreet Kaur, a former Ph.D Horticulture (Fruit Science) student in the Department of Fruit Science at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been honoured with the “Best Thesis Award” at the International Conference on "Agritech Intelligence and Beyond: Cutting Edge Innovations in Agriculture and Allied Sciences,” organized by the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Kashmir in collaboration with VITAL Biotech (AFTEFS) India, at SKUAST-Kashmir recently.
Dr Kaur’s award-winning thesis entitled "Management of Fruit Splitting in Daisy Mandarin" highlights effective techniques to reduce the fruit splitting in Daisy mandarin. Her work addresses critical challenges to improve marketable yield and quality of Daisy fruits. She completed her Ph.D degree in November 2023 under the able guidance of Dr Monika Gupta, Associate Professor (Fruit Science), PAU.
The PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Director of Research Dr AS Dhatt, Dean of Postgraduate Studies Dr Manav Indra Singh Gill, Additional Director Communication Dr Tejinder Singh Riar and Head, Department of Fruit Science Dr HS Rattanpal congratulated Dr Kaur and her advisor for their remarkable achievement.
