PAU celebrates world day for cultural diversity for dialogue and development
Ludhiana: The Department of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), celebrated World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development to deepen the understanding of the values of cultural diversity.
In his welcome remarks, Dr Kuldeep Singh, Head of the department, said: “Diverse cultural perspectives can inspire creativity and drive innovation.”
Dr Lavleesh Garg, Extension Scientist, said the cultural diversity is a driving force of development, not only with respect to economic growth, but also as a means of leading a more fulfilling intellectual, emotional, moral and spiritual life.
Later, Dr Lakhwinder Kaur, Extension Scientist, proposed a vote of thanks.
On the occasion, students of the department participated in various events, which represented folk dances of different states through videography. They also presented different activities like folk songs, ennu making and rangoli making, which are symbol of colour and prosperity. The students gave their best to represent heritage and culture of India.
